“August” A lone
buffalo stands in the heat of an August afternoon, dozing and waiting
for the sun to have mercy and move along toward the horizon.
This painting is one of many
in the wildlife art category of my web site, www.donvernongallery.com,
which also includes native American art and western art. The medium
is acrylic on canvas and measures 14” X 18” with a custom
barn wood frame, perfect for anyone who loves western art.
I truly believe I accomplished
my goal here of rendering my subject in a ‘tip of the hat’
salute to the traditional wildlife art painting style of the 1930’s.
Native American art subjects are dear to my heart as well as wildlife
art and I continue to explore the tremendous possibilities of composition
and color available.
