Out
of the Gate
My husband used to be a bull rider and it has always mystified me
as to the reasons why these brave western cowboys would want to
go out and get on these massive beasts. But what a ride it must
be! Honestly, I am terrified of bulls. I’ve had a few too
many close calls while out driving cattle upon my horse, on our
4,000-acre summer western range lease, and once in awhile my horse
and I would unknowingly find ourselves in the middle of two massive,
fighting bulls. When these large beasts turn and run, it doesn’t
matter who happens to be in the way, they just simply run blind,
and they’re ‘gone!’ It’s the same here in
this original western art painting, “Out of the Gate”
there is all that intensive waiting for the gate to open while the
cowboy gets his riggen’ settled and in place on the bull.
When that cowboy nods his head, sets his spurs and the gate instantly
opens, it really doesn’t matter who happens to be in the way
for the only goal the bull has is to get rid of the cowboy, in any
way imaginable and at any cost. In those few 8 seconds of intense
athleticism, the bull and rider become one and all-else fades away.
It is extreme and full of unimaginable power, which only a few will
ever experience. But isn’t that the inner secret?
This beautiful original piece of western art, “Out of the
Gate” has just been sold to a private collector of western
art, here in Canada. Beautiful reproduction art prints are available.
