Pat Taylor

Pat Taylor, an amazing Western Artist, delves her talent into the exrtraordinary effects of watercolor

Riding the Storm by Western artist Pat Taylor

Pat Taylor, a Western Artist, grew up in the Okanogan Valley of British Columbia, Canada living within the country working with a variety of ranches, working cowboys, and horses.

Her childhood was dominated by a true passion for anything to do with western art, western cowboys and the western way of life.

Equine art and western art soon became an obsession for her. Her summers were filled with working at a combination of working ranches and guest ranches and it solidified deep within her a need to paint the western cowboy's true way of life.

Pat currently creates her stunning pieces of western artwork within a beautiful solarium studio facing North. She views the picturestic Thompson Valley to the Cariboo and Chilcoton of British Columbia and sees everyday the rugged country that challenges the rancher’s life with its extreme and fast changing weather. This enables Pat to truly portray the ever-changing storms and clouds with a luminosity that captures the bitter cold and changing skies which is a true chill felt by cowboys riding alone with their horse amongst the cold hard leather with only their dog by their side. This reality comes through vividly in her western watercolor paintings.

Artworks portraying these cowboys who are hauling much needed feed to cattle with a four horse team and rescuing newborn calves that are born too early in the unforgiving and bitter spring holds Pat’s interest, love and captivation.
Her talent has been recognized over the years with a number of awards both juror’s and peoples’ choice awards at a variety of western art shows.
She is currently a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and continues to compete with her work and creates outstanding, award winning and beautiful western art watercolor paintings.

Come and visit Pat's page as often as you can, as she is consistantly adding more and new pieces of watercolors to her 'Western Art and Cowboy Art' gallery.
